On July 16th, 5 police officers were wounded and 2 suspects were killed in a massive shoot-out in Jersey City. One of the police officers involved in the shoot-out was later pronounced dead a few days later. His name was Detective Marc A. DiNardo. He leaves behind his wife, Mary, and their three children, Gwendolyn, 4; Marc Anthony, 3; and Ella, 1. He is the 38th Jersey City police officer to die in the line of duty since the department was established in 1829.
